TIM WELTIN

Tim Weltin is a native Texan. Born in San Antonio, he grew up in Dallas and has lived in Austin and Houston as an adult. Weltin received his B.A. in Government from the University of Texas in 1988. He worked as a political professional in Democratic politics for seven years, including a five-year stint as the Executive Director of the Travis County Democratic Party. During his tenure at the Democratic Party, Travis County achieved the highest voter registration rate and turn-out rate for any county of its size in the nation. Weltin was also responsible for the design and distribution of more than 1 million pieces of literature.

At the University of Houston Law Center he served as the Advocates Executive Board Member for Trial Advocacy. He also served as Chair of the Board of Advocates. Weltin was a semi-finalist in the Hippard Mock Trial Competition and he won the Lorance & Thompson Negotiation Competition. Weltin was a member of the University of Houston Mock Trial Team and was an ABA Nationals Mock Trial regional quarter-finalist. Weltin's awards in law school also included UHLC Distinguished Advocate; UHLC Outstanding Advocate, and the Paul Broughton Public Service Award.

Prior to founding Weltin Mask, PLLC, Tim Weltin worked as a law clerk and associate attorney for four years representing plaintiffs in health-related, complex litigation. His docket included tens of millions of dollars in favorable outcomes for his clients. He has served on the board of directors of Kids Exchange and was a member of the A+ Coalition for public schools. Weltin is also a member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American Bar Association.
